I'm late for dinner, I mean the winner!

It's still technically Monday...just not Monday morning as promised. Can I use the excuse that today was a very busy because I sent all of the final art to the printer for a very special new Jillibean Soup collection? And then I dove back into even more new products being developed for Summer CHA. Make sure to stop by the Jillibean Blog on Friday for a big announcement from Jill!

The winner of the CK Simple Scrapbooks is...

Great News!

I am now officially a staff member at The Scrap Review! You can see the announcement right here.

I was so surprised and honored when Ashley invited me to be part of their team. I have been reading The Scrap Review from the beginning and they have been once of my daily blog reads ever since. Especially right before CHA when they post all of the gorgeous sneak peaks. The team always does a great job of reviewing new products and tools. It is truly an honor to be a part of this and join so many other talented crafters and friends. If you have ever had the chance to meet Ashley in person, you will know what a kind and honest person she is. Very easy to talk to and get to know. I can't wait to see what my first project will be!

Head on over to see the other very talented ladies that are joining the team as well as all of the other great staff members already there!

PS Don't forget to leave a comment below for the Simple Scrapbooks Giveway!

Simple Scrapbooks Giveaway

Two posts in one week! I am on top of my game and feeling very excited about all the projects I have on my desk right now. Lots of new and different design work. You know you love your job when you sneak back down to work on a Friday night at 9pm. I remember when I worked in the architectural field, I would sit at my desk watching the clock. Counting the hours until I could be free. It just wasn't as creative and imaginative as I had imagined. Designing papers, dies, stamps and stickers? I would work 24/7 if I didn't have to stop and sleep.  My teenager complains, "Don't you get tired of sitting at the computer?". Not really! I am extremely blessed to have the clients I work with and so many amazing projects to be a part of. My only complaint, not enough scrapping time. I would like to find more time to play with paper. Luckily being on the Jillibean Design team forces me to step away from the computer and create a few pages each month. Assignments from Creating Keepsakes always help me to stop and create as well.

I was extremely excited and honored to be asked to contribute to the Simple Scrapbooks Special Issue. My graphic style of pages has always been similar to the "Simple Style". The Simple Scrapbooks issues were always my favorite when I started scrapbooking in 2006. I was so sad when they stopped publishing that magazine in 2008. (darn economy!) I usually throw out my magazine after a year...but I still have the last two years of Simple saved. I still go back and look at them for inspiration and ideas.

Fast forward to 2012 and a new special issue of Simple Scrapbooks is on sale now at the Scrap & Paper shop!

As always, Creating Keepsakes has included some great downloads and freebies that go with this issue. You can get all of this bonus content right here!

Here is your inside look and sneak peek of this great new issue!

My contribution to the issue? A baseball page of course! My page has photos of Max from his first Travel team to his current Varsity team. The page captures how much he has grown and how far he has come as an athlete and a person. I really need to do more of these comparison pages. They really tell a great story.

Be sure to check out an amazing Jillibean page on Page 109 by my friend Aly Dosdall! It was one of my many favorites in the issue! I hope you enjoy this issue as much I do. It is definitely a "keeper" to refer to for years and years!

More sports page anyone? Can you tell how I spend the majority of my free time when not designing?
Last fall was the the MESSIEST, rainest fall I can remember. Both little guys played Saturday morning flag football. Many of their games were cancelled from the extreme cold and rain - and they never cancel football lol. The games that were played were an absolute mess. The field was a complete mud pit and got worse each game. Not that my boys complained though. They thought it was great. I am completely convinced this football season cost me a washing machine. Ours died after only 5 years! Needless to say, I bought a very heavy duty, high capacity replacement version.
Basically, two versions of the same page here...one for each of their school/activities books. Titles cut on my beloved Cameo machine. Everything Jillibean - Game Day Chili!

Speaking of diecutting...It's been forever since I have added any new Digital Diecuts to my store at TwoPeas. I love creating digital cuts but sadly those have fallen behind due to other design commitments. The good news...I have finally created some new kits and will be releasing at least one a month. Be sure to check out my current kits if you haven't before. TwoPeas is running a one day sale. Click on the link below to get 25% off all digital products today only!

Earth Day Digital Sale - One Day Only - receive 25% off all digital product with up to 50% off select closeout digital product. This offer is valid only on Monday, April 23, 2012.

I'll be back tomorrow with another GIVEWAY! Hurray!

Creating Keepsakes May/June 2012

Spring is here in Cleveland - it actually came a few weeks early! I absolutely love this time of year. My grass is growing, the kids are busy with baseball and I can actually wear flip flops once again.

I was pretty excited when the mailman brought me the latest issue Creating Keepsakes issue late last week. I love having a new issue to flip through while I am waiting for one of the boys to finish up a practice. May/June does not disappoint! Lots of great articles, tips and of course tons of great pages. I am in love with Cindy Tobey's Common Thread layout on page 44. Simple style, great balance and a beautiful mix of colors.

You can purchase your own copy of the May/June issue at the CK store right here.

I have a page in the same "Family Gallery" article. My 3 Sons on page 50 showcases all three of my boys with their likenesses and differences. See that great little quote below the journaling??? It's one of the eight FREE journaling stickers that I created for the article. You can download these AND another page of journaling spots (shown on page 96) that I created for this issue as well by heading over to this link!

Want to win a copy of your own? Simply leave me a comment below by midnight Sunday April 23. I will post the winner on Monday.

Want even more chances to win? Stop by my friend's blogs to learn more about the new issue and a chance to enter on their blogs as well!

Stacy Cohen  - who creates the most amazing pages of her girls! The complete opposite of me and I love it!

Patty Cieri - creates some great projects and unique albums!

Mou Saha - another artist that is completely different from me and wows me in every way. I love that she is always trying new things.

Good luck!

Another Sports Page!

I probably will never run out of sports pictures to scrap...good thing I have plenty of Game Day Chili in my stash! This is probably the funniest football picture of Max ever! As the being one of the smallest centers in the conference, he has had to face some pretty large defensive linesmen. When they played Elyria Catholic in October, he face the biggest high school student I had ever seen. To make matters worse - this player was a FRESHMAN! The family joked with Max that he had to play Michael Orr in the game. Despite the odds, Max never gave up blocking him. I'm just so glad I got this picture!
